Hello! 

I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer almost a year ago, after having a colonoscopy following mild symptoms and my 35 year old cousin being diagnosed. After some additional testing it was determined that I needed to have a major bowel resection to remove the cancer. Thankfully with the expert skills of my surgeon, all cancer was removed during the surgery and no further treatment was required. Recently I had my first follow up colonoscopy since the diagnosis which confirmed I am still cancer free and will not need to have another follow up procedure for 5 years which is the best outcome possible. 

As some of you may be aware, June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month which is an initiative supported by Bowel Cancer Australia. Bowel Cancer Australia is the leading national charity dedicated to prevention, early diagnosis, research, quality treatment and the best care for everyone affected by bowel cancer.
